American Northwest Adventure

July 11 - July 18

Ready to explore 5 states in 8 days?

This trip packs in some of the most incredible landscapes and unforgettable experiences the Western United States has to offer. We’ll begin our journey in The Emerald City, Seattle, nicknamed for the lush evergreen trees in the area. From there, we’ll take a ferry to the San Juan Islands for some hiking, orca watching, and a bucket list bioluminescent nighttime kayak tour. Next, we’ll head west, traversing between massive peaks and turquoise-colored glacial lakes. We’ll journey where no roads can take you to the town of Stehekin, a truly magical place deep in the Cascades, only accessible by boat, plane or on foot. From there, we head to the Route of the Hiawatha, the bike trail often ranked “the most scenic in the USA.” Our trip comes to an end in Yellowstone National Park, where we’ll stand in awe of geysers, prismatic pools, and plenty of wildlife sightings.

THE DETAILS

DAY 1

Fly as a group from DFW Airport to Seattle. Explore the "Emerald City" and enjoy a waterfront dinner before checking into our hotel.

DAY 2

We'll get up early and catch the ferry to San Juan Island where we'll spend the day hiking, orca watching and eating lavender ice cream at an organic lavender farm. At sunset, we'll head out on a bioluminescent nighttime kayak paddle - a truly magical experience. The water will sparkle and glow as you disturb bioluminescent algae and microorganisms with your paddle or scoop some up in your hands. We'll stay on the island in a comfortable boutique hotel.

DAY 3

In the morning, we'll head back to mainland on the ferry and hit the road on the scenic North Cascades Highway. Along the way, we'll stop for organic berry picking and a few unforgettable hikes in pacific northwest rainforests. We'll stay in a lakeside hotel by Lake Chelan.

DAY 4

Today, we'll journey to a town so remote, it is only accessible by boat, sea plane, or on foot. Magical is the only word to describe Stehekin. Blue glacial waters surrounded by mountain peaks, stunning waterfalls, and apple orchards. We'll rent bikes to explore the area and eat a picnic lunch before returning back on the Lady of the Lake boat.

DAY 5

In the morning, we'll head to the Route of the Hiawatha, rated one of the most scenic bike rides in the country. The mostly downhill route passes through 10 old train tunnels and over 7 sky-high trestles for some sweeping views of the area. After we complete the trail, we'll head to Bozeman, Montana to rest up.

DAY 6

We'll get up early and drive to Yellowstone National Park! The park is home to rugged wilderness, abundant wildlife, and the world's largest concentration of geysers and thermal features! We'll spend the day hiking, sightseeing, and snapping photos of bison and other wildlife before heading to our hotel.

DAY 7

It is truly impossible to experience Yellowstone in just one day. We'll pick up where we left off exploring the park and feasting on it's natural beauty.
